Buche De Noel Cleanser: Review by Jess Leeman

Hey lovelies,

I'm Jess a 21 year old media Undergraduate and beauty blogger over at www.beautifulbreakable.com - today I'm taking over Kia's beautiful blog to share with you my thoughts on Lush's Buche De Noel cleanser. Do head over to my blog afterwards to read Kia’s review! Right, let’s get started…

I must admit, when I first opened the Buche De Noel I wasn't sure whether I'd be a fan. Nonetheless I decided from day one that I would review this product for you, regardless. I also am 100% aware that Buche De Noel is a seasonal product (sorry!), grab it next Christmas? It's been on my wishlist since last year!

Like all Lush products and cleansers the ingredients used to make Buche De Noel are all natural and kind to the skin. Buche De Noel is created by blending satsumas and cranberries – other ingredients include: vegetable glycerine, brandy, almond essential oil to name a few.

How I use Buche De Noel
This product, like Lush’s other cleansers, is very crumbly. So to use this cleanser you need to add a little bit of water – don’t add it into the pot though as your product will go off quicker. With dry hands I take a large grape sized amount and place it into the palm of my hand. I then trickle water onto it – mix the cleanser and water until it becomes the texture of a paste.

Once I have the product in a paste consistency I rub it, in circular motion, across my entire face – I like to use circular motions for added exfoliation. After a couple of mins I just let it sit on my face, and then after a further 2/3 mins I use a warm flannel to remove the product.

My thoughts

I really love this product. I didn’t think I was going to be a fan just because I usually like something more abrasive – like Ocean Salt (which I’ve also reviewed) – but I found it perfect, especially for a morning. I find this exfoliates the face enough, without leaving you red faced. This cleanser has a gorgeous citrus/oaty scent – it’s very refreshing and uplifting on these wintery mornings. I have found that this cleanser has really helped to even out my skin and the tones in my skin, it’s so soothing.

I would definitely recommend this as I feel like it has fit perfectly into my regular skincare routine, but it hasn’t broke me out or upset my skin. A product that does that is a winner for me as I have combination/oily skin! If you can’t wait ‘til next Christmas though, I hear Angels On Bare Skin is similar (next on my list to try!).

I would love to know if you’ve tried this cleanser (or any other Lush cleansers) and what your thoughts are. Did you have a positive or negative experience?

I really hope you enjoyed my post, thank you for having me! Don’t forget to head over to my blog to see Kia’s review <3
