Review of the year- 2015

Its that time of year again, its time to look back on 2015.

2015 has been a year that has really opened my eyes. It has shown me that things are not always as they seem.It has also taught me that nothing in life is easy. If you want something then you have to work for it. You cannot be spoon fed for the rest of your life, get up, do something and achieve your dreams. If you work hard you can achieve anything you set your mind to.

What I got for christmas 2015

I can' believe blogmas is over! Even though it did stress me out at times, I miss it. I'm really proud of myself for sticking at it because at some points I did want to give up. Its been really fun reading other people's blogmas and some ideas that people had come up with to write about were great. It was lovely to sit down at the end of the night and read festive posts to get me in the mood for christmas.

Before I start this post I just want to say that I am in no way 'showing off' by posting what I got for christmas, I love reading other people's what I got for christmas blogs and I really hope you enjoy reading this one too. I feel really grateful for all that I have received this year and I love every single gift that I have received.

What I got Adam for Christmas

I hope everyone had a really nice christmas yesterday and they received everything on their wish list. I thought it would be a nice idea to show you all what I got Adam for Christmas. I absolutely loved spoiling him this christmas. It is our first christmas together so I was very in the dark when it came to buying him christmas presents. I just had to go with things that I thought he would like and listen very carefully to things the was saying that he needed or wanted over the past few months. I am not going to put prices on this blog as I know that Adam occasionally reads my blog and I don't want him finding out because I don't think that's right.

Adam had been saying for ages that he wanted a dressing gown and I spent months showing him different dressing gowns and he could not find one that he liked so all I had to work with was he wanted a grey one. I spent days debating whether to get it and finally I got it and I don't regret getting it because it is so soft and I personally love it so I hope he will to.

Blogmas day 24! - How i'm spending my Christmas eve!

I love Christmas eve, it feels so magical and you have that excitement building inside of you waiting for Christmas day. Thankfully i'm not working Christmas eve which is wonderful because I was dreading having to work it as I wasn't used to working Christmas eve and I wanted to spend time with my family.

We go to church with my family every year and have done since I was little and I don't want to stop that now as its something we do as a family. I actually really enjoy going to church on Christmas eve, its the only time we go to church but I think it is such a nice thing to do. Everyone sings and the children take it in turns to take the little figures of the nativity to the front and put them in the stable. There is also a chance to place presents under the stable which are given to children who wouldn't necessarily get presents on Christmas day which is such a sweet idea.

Most years we go to my aunties after we have been to church but i'm not sure if we are doing that this year. We go round there to open presents because we don't see each other on christmas day and its nice that we can thank them right away. The night is filled with laughter and smiles all round.

When I get home me and my two sisters all have matching pj's and reindeer socks which I am so excited about. We'll all sit as a family drinking hot chocolate or mulled wine, watching Christmas films and spending time as a family which we don't get to do very often because we all have really busy lives and Sarah lives in Manchester so we don't see her as much.

The pj's that I have got for us are from primark as I didn't want to spend to much. But they are really nice and not too thick because I hate thick Pj's as I get to hot.

Blogmas day 22! - Christmas day outfit ideas!

Depending on what you are doing can influence what you want you Christmas day outfit to be. If you are staying in your own house you might want something comfy and if you are going out you might want to make a little bit more effort. All of the clothes in this blog are from New look, Primark or River island.

This is a knee length dress that I have paired with tights. It is a brown/purple colour dress with gold/red flakes in it which makes it a beautiful dress if you are wanting to dress up a bit more. It has a turtle neck which I am really loving at the moment. It is a dress which really shows off your figure and curves. I would say that this is a dress that you could wear for a either a work Christmas party or a family Christmas party and I can guarantee that you will get compliments.

Blogmas day 21! - Favourite things to watch at Christmas

Christmas timeeeeee......mistletoe and wineeeeee.......ahhhh its 4 days till Christmas!! Who's excited?? I defiantly am! I thought today would be a good day to talk about the tv/films I like watching around Christmas time because it is the time to sit around with family and watch films together and spend time with each other.

My all time favourite Christmas film is elf. It is the film that I have to watch every Christmas and I count down the days until it is acceptable to start watching it. It is funny and it is a film that has all the festivity you need. You can't hate elf, it is just one of those addictive films that you have to love. His excitement for Christmas rubs off on everyone in the film and everyone who watches it. There is singing, snowballs and a whole lot of Christmas decorations. If you haven't seen this film then where have you been under a rock? Make sure that this Christmas you watch this film.

Blogmas day 20! - New years eve games

New years eve is a time for celebration and spending time with your family or the ones that you love. Well I personally think that. I always remember celebrating new year eve with family and friends when I was younger and they were all really nice memories that I will remember forever. When I was younger my family would always take it in turns with another family to spend new years eve at each others houses. They had 2 children and there were 4 children in our family so there were plenty of people to play with which meant that there were always enough people to play games with.

There were certain games that we would play each year without fail and we always knew that we were going to play them and at that time they were really fun because obviously it doesn't take much to entertain 5,6 and 7 years old's.

Blogmas day 19! - Mac make up haul and review

Well don't we all love a good haul at mac? I took a trip to Manchester twice at the start of the month and decided to treat myself with some new make up. I picked up quite a few products that i've never had before and I was really looking forward to trying them.I have always loved Mac products so I wasn't worried about wasting money on it because I knew the brand was good.

Prep + prime  transparent finishing powder/pressed

When I first started using this power I didn't really know what to think of it. It was different from what I was used to because I was used to wearing a pressed power that had colour in it. I had been struggling to find the correct foundation that matched my skin tone and when I used this I found out that my foundation was correct it was just the powder that I was using that was changing the colour which was making me not like it. This kept my foundation the same colour and just set it in place. It would last at least 6 hours if not more.It would always make my foundation look really nice and didn't look cakey.
This is £20.50.

Blogmas day 18! - Wrapping presents and colour scheme

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas.....everywhere you go.....
I am now officially feeling Christmmasy now! I have wrapped all my presents and now its a waiting game. This year I have wrapped my gifts in brown wrapping paper and used red, gold and sliver ribbon and bows to decorate them. I think that they look so pretty and I love the fact that they all match.

Blogmas day 17! - Christmas lush haul/favorites

Everyone loves lush right? So as soon as their Christmas range came out I had to get some of them. I have used some of these before and some I haven't tried yet but I have been using lush for years now and I don't think they will disappoint. These are some of my favourites:

Blogmas day 16! - Knowing it's going to be stressful

When you think about Christmas you think of all the happy, cute, festive things and you don't really think of all the stressful things. When you get older your family get bigger, there are more houses to go to, you have to fit in seeing people around work commitments and the list goes on.

However stressful you feel always make sure that you remember it is a time for spending time with family.

My parents are not together anymore so I see both of them over Christmas and i'm also going to Adams at some point as well. I am the type of person who likes to know what is happening or I get really stressed and i've been asking everyone since September what is happening at Christmas and only in the last week have I finally got an answer.

Blogmas day 15! - Christmas house tour

This again is going to be more of a picture blog but I thought it would be quite nice to show you some of the decorations we have in our house. They are mostly from the living room and the hallway because if I went around the whole house the blog post would be massive.

This is the Christmas tree in the main living room. Its 6ft so its taller than me but I some how managed to put it up all by myself. My mum decorated it and it looks beautiful.

Blogmas day 13! - How to cope with college, work and everything else

We all know life is never simple and sometimes you feel like things are piling up so high that you are drowning in the amount of things that you have to get done.

My week:

Monday: 7.30am get up, 9am start placement, half 12- 1pm dinner break, 4pm finish placement. Then i'll go back to Adams get my stuff then my mum will pick me up and take me home. I'll then sit and do assignments, complete any college work that I have to get done. I'd probably get to sleep around 12pm.

Tuesday: 7am get up, 8;50am get to college, 3.30 finish college. Then went to my sisters  because it was my nieces 5th birthday. Went home wrote blog posts then college work.

Wednesday: Is my day off so I slept till 9am then spent the day doing college work and wrapping presents then at 4pm I went to work. I finished at 7.30pm because I had a migraine and couldn't open my eyes properly so I went back to Adams and I just lay in bed and went to sleep.

Blogmas day 12! - Making Christmas cards and decorations

When you are little there is nothing better than creating decorations to put on the Christmas tree and that you can keep forever. If you have young children, nieces or nephews then these are a great activity to do with them to keep them busy for a while and something that they will really enjoy.

These tree decorations are made from salt dough.

What you'll need:
  • Salt
  • Plain flour
  • Water
  • Cookie cutters (Optional)
  • Ribbon for hanging
  • Paint to decorate
You need to put half a cup of flour, half a cup of salt into a bowl and mix together then pour in the water and mix together until it forms a dough. Once it forms a dough roll it out and at this point you can either use cookie cutters to cut out shaped or you can do what I did and use hand prints and cut around them. While it dough is still soft use the end of a paint brush and make a hole in the top where you can put the ribbon later. Once you have cut the shapes out put them on grease proof paper on a baking tray and put then in the oven on a low heat for about 2-3 hours. When they are fully baked you can paint your patten onto them. The black markings on the Santa's faces are done once the paint is dry with a black felt tip pen. After the paint is dry you can thread the ribbon and you are done!
Hand them on the tree or you can use them to decorate presents.

Blogmas day 11! - How important is family?

To me family is everything. They support me and they are the ones who will always be there for me.

You may think at times 'I hate my mum/dad' but one thing I will say is never take them for granted because one day they wont be there and then you will soon realised how much you miss them.

Blogmas day 10! - Bedroom tour

Since I moved back to my mums I have decorated and moved things around in my room to the point where I now love it. I have gone with a city theme wall with the other walls grey. My bedding has green parts to it which really brings something different to the room. I have quite a small room to maximising storage is a must so that's why I have 3 different cupboards and under bed storage which gives me quite a lot of storage. I have a built in wardrobe which is full to the brim with clothes and loads of other stuff (It really needs sorting out). I do love how cosy my room feels and I don't think i'll be changing it for a while.

Blogmas day 9! - The real meaning of Christmas

When Christmas comes around sometimes we lose sight of the real meaning of it. We get so caught up in the thought of what we want to get and what we think we need that we forget about spending time with the ones we love and seeing the smiles on their faces.

To me Christmas is about traditions with your family and spending time together instead of rushing around like you most likely do at any other point in the year. Giving presents to other people and seeing the smile on their face is the most magical thing ever and having the whole family sat around the table having Christmas dinner can put anyone in a good mood.

Blogmas day 8! - Manchester Christmas Markets

It might only be the 8th of December but i've already been to the Manchester Christmas markets twice. I love them so much! I've been once with my family and once with Adam.

The Christmas markets are something I associate with the start of the Christmas season. They look so festive and the smell when you are walking around them is amazing. I picked up quite a few presents as I was walking around; I got some candles, baby grows, chocolate and mugs. They are the type of things that you don't find in normal shops.

Blogmas day 7! - What to get him for Christmas

We've been though what to get girls now lets get started with the guys. Here are 7 different things you can get for your other half, dad, brother or uncle.

I think that everyone should have a dressing gown which they can sit down in the evening and just feel all snug.
This one is from John Lewis and is £45.00

Blogmas day 6! - What to get her for Christmas

Christmas shopping is hard. Trying to find the perfect present can be really stressful. I've put together a few different idea of gifts that you can get for your girlfriend, mum, sister or auntie.

This Cath Kidston diary is so adorable. The colour's and patterns are beautiful and this is just the present for someone who likes to stay organised....or for someone who needs to be a bit more organised next year.
This is £15.00 and you can find it from Cath Kidston if you click here

Blogmas day 5! - Christmas traditions now

As you get older your tradition's at Christmas change, partners join the family, siblings have kids and move to their own house and you grow up so you don't do the child like traditions like you used to. (even though I am one for keeping as many traditions as I can.)

At this point in time we still don't have the big Christmas tree up in the living room or the kitchen and the downstairs decorations are not up yet. My younger sister has Christmas decorations up in her room, well to be honest she has had them up all year because she is Christmas mad. I have recently put decorations up in my room. I have a small Christmas tree, little ornaments and fairy lights around my shelves. It is all so cosy and cute. I think this year is going to be more difficult than any other year before because even though i'm living back at my mums I spend the weekends at Adams which means that I won't be there for when they put the Christmas tree up. We do have a 6ft Christmas tree so it does take like 10 years to decorate and Freya and Jaden end up getting bored and mum does it for them.

We still always go to church on Christmas eve and for the past couple of years we have been going to my aunties after we have been to church to exchange presents so the family can be together and we always get a family picture (as seen below). Hopefully i'll be in work lateish so I don't have to miss it.

Blogmas day 4! - Christmas traditions when I was younger

When you are little Christmas is much a magical and happy time. You have the excitement of falling asleep on Christmas eve and wondering if Father Christmas is going to come down the chimney when you are asleep and leave presents under the tree.

Lets start with putting the Christmas decorations up. My mum always had a different colour scheme each year and she would stick to that around the whole house. I do have to admit it looked quite nice all matching. There were 4 of us kids and as you could imagine when we decorated the tree it never really looked perfect so without fail mum would always rearrange the decorations to her standards when we had finished. It would always be a family thing putting up the Christmas tree, something that we would all do together. There is this one video we have from when we were all younger and we are all trying to put the bells on the tree and none of us wanted to put the baubles on the tree. There were only a certain amount of these bells so you had to try and find them really quick before the others did.

On Christmas eve we would always go to church. We didn't really go at any other point in the year but we would always go on Christmas eve without fail. It is something that we have done since we were little. Some of the children would get given numbers and their number would match something out of the nativity scene and that is the thing that they would take up to the front into the stable. We would take presents and put them under the stable and these would be given to the children who might not have got anything on Christmas day. I thought this was a lovely idea. After church we would go home and usually watch Santa on the Santa tracker that you can get. When he got to a certain place mum would say its bed time so we would go and leave Santa a mince pie and a glass of milk and a carrot for Rudolph.

Blogmas day 3! - Yankee candle haul

Over the past couple of months I have picked up quite a few Yankee candles....maybe a few more than a normal person should have. It is no hidden fact that Yankee candles are a beautiful brand of candles which smell AMAZING.

The first Christmas candle I am going to talk about is candy cane lane. This candle is beautiful! This year was the first time that I have got this candle and I was really surprised with how nice it smelt. It makes the room smell so christmassy, even the morning after and it has been blown out for hours. It smells of peppermint mixed with cookies and a hint of vanilla.

This next one I wasn't too fond on as I really don't like the smell of cinnamon. I don't know what it is about it but I don't like the smell or the taste. When you first take off the lid it smell is really over powering but I can't tell you what it is like when it has been lit as I haven't lit it because it is not one of my favourites.

This is the Christmas eve candle. It has a lovely smell of sugared plums, and candied fruit. It really makes the room smell like you just want to get under a blanket and watch Christmas films and feel really cosy. I also have this in the votive candle.

Blogmas day 2! - How me and Adam met

In my opinion me and Adam didn't get together in the most typical way. The first ever time we saw each other was when I was working at Domino's and he came in with one of his friends (who I was friends with) to order pizza. Considering I only started working at Domino's in the middle of February and this happened at the end of February, I was still very nervous about taking orders,  especially people's orders who I actually knew. So I took the order and walked away to avoid any conversation and do my job.

He added me on Facebook on March 1st 2015 but we still hadn't spoken at this point but I do admit I did stalk his Facebook a bit! aha!

On the 4th I met Jordan (The friend who Adam was with on the night he came into Domino's). We were talking and he happened to mention that Adam has spoke about me so we decided on a plan. Jordan text Adam saying 'text this number' with my number and Adam actually did but he had no clue who it was. Adam was getting really annoyed at Jordan and really annoyed at me because he didn't know who it was and just ended up sending messages like tell me who this is right now! He was on a night shift at work and on his break he rang Jordan and pretty much demanded him to tell him who it was, Jordan gave the phone to me and I said hi and he just went quiet and hung up the phone. He messaged me something along the lines of 'I'm sorry if I new it was you I wouldn't have been that mean' and ever since then we started messaging. We agreed to meet for coffee on the Saturday which would have been the 7th.

It got to the 6th and I had just got home from work and as we were talking we figured out that he was just down the road of from so we decided to meet up then. He picked me up at about 1.30am in the morning and we went to McDonald's, The conversation never died and we got on really well. We drove back and ended up sitting in the car talking in Waitrose car park till like half 4 in the morning. I can't remember how it started but we were play fighting and then he leaned in and kissed me.... I think my first reaction was that I was shocked but I never regretted it. We talked for a bit afterwards then he used the line 'do you want to pass some more time?' Yes CRINGE but I thought it was cute! We went back to his to watch a film and then at half 7 in the morning we went to Costa so technically we did go for coffee on the Saturday aha! One of the main things that I remember is that I didn't bring my make up out with me because I didn't think I would be staying out all night and by this point in the morning all of my make up had pretty much come off so I was really self-concious. We went round to Jordan's house and I just sat there not making eye contact with anyone.

Happy 1st of December!

Happy 1st of December guys! I can't believe how fast this year has gone. One month left and we're in 2016. Christmas is my most favourite time of the year. I'm sat here Christmas pyjama's on, fresh bedding on my bed, Christmas eve Yankee candle burning, all my Christmas lights twinkling around me and drinking a milky hot chocolate with marshmallows and a candy cane. I feel so festive and cosy!
