YNOT Festival 2015

So year number 2, twice the fun, twice the disasters, twice the alcohol and twice the laughs. YNOT festival is a medium festival in Pikehall, Matlock. This year it ran from 30th July/ 31st without early entry till 3rd August.

(This post will have many photos to go along with it.)

So this year we (me, Chelsea and Freya and Kallum) thought it would be a great idea to have a 9 person tent between the 4 of us, which was totally fine until we figured it was really heavy to carry. So with around 3 or 4 trips back to the car we finally got everything to the camp! Kallum wasn't getting there till the Friday so it was just me, Freya and Chelsea until then and we had to put the tent up....which was a disaster!! These two security guards thought it would be funny to sit a laugh at use instead of helping...then the tent almost blew away and trying to get at the poles in the right place was just another disaster all together! It took around an hour but we got the tent up in the end.

The first night was pretty relaxed, we met up with a few friends, went to see a band called beans on toast which we okay then pretty much spent the rest of the night eating pizza, catch up with people i've not seen in ages and drinking large amounts of alcohol.

Friday was more spent watching bands but not before we had our bacon buttys. We walked up to one of the hills and the view looking down was just amazing! you could see everything and it looked great.

Friday nights was one of the disasters i was talking about. Around mid day I started to feel a migraine coming one so I stopped drinking around 2/3pm and went to lie down and go to sleep. Got up around 5pm and was starting to feel really sick and my head felt like it was going to explode. I stuck with it and went out. I was with freya in the crowd waiting to see snoop dog when Freya started to panic. Freya is only around 4ft 9in and everyone else around her in the crown were really tall and it was really squished. So I took her further to the back where I found some people I knew. I thought she would have been okay where we were but apparently not as she started to have a panic attack within the crowd. Trying to get out of a crowd is one of the hardest things ever! I found Chelsea at the back of the crowd and at this point Freya was having a panic attack and I was feeling really ill. I told Chelsea to take Freya and calm her down and the next thing I know i'm being sick because my migraine has got that bad. I had to call my boyfriend to come and pick me up so I could go home. A good night sleep, shower and food and the next day I was ready to go back. I was gutted I only got to see 15mins of Snoop Dog.

Got back to the festival around 3PMish, got back to the tent got back to the drinking then went to see more bands; Raleigh Ritchie, Saint Raymond, Deaf Havana and Basement Jaxx. They were all amazing! The best night of my life! I had been waiting all year to see Saint Raymond and Basement Jaxx and they rest were the first time i'd seen them and they did not disappoint. Me, Chelsea, Freya, Holly, Kallum, Ben T and Ben C were right at the front for Basement Jaxx and that was amazing! I would love to relive it!

The crowds that were there were great and Freya was totally fine this time which made it so much better. The atmosphere was fantastic and I really hope I end up going next year.

Paint fights, drinking games, doing henna on each other while drunk, whole tent sing along's, the big wheel, bumper cars, millions of different foods and cocktails. The weekend was never boring.

On Sunday we realised that we had loads of different alcoholic drinks still left so what we did was empty all the water out of the water carrier and put all of the alcohol in there. We had a 5 litre cocktail of; vodka, peach snaps, red bull, cider, kopparberg, coke and fanta...it actually wasn't too bad.

All in all it was a great weekend and I can't wait to do it all again next year!
